Legacy Stories: A Decade of WaterFleet Solutions

Revisiting proven projects to show how our mobile utility solutions aren’t just built to solve short-term problems but deliver long-term value, cost savings, and compliance that still hold up today.

Managing wastewater at man camps has traditionally meant trucks, tanks, and thousands of dollars in hauling costs. But one remote workforce camp proved there’s a better way. With WaterFleet’s help, they implemented a wastewater reuse strategy at their man camp cutting $660K in annual costs by treating and reusing all effluent water onsite.

Then vs Now

  • Then: In 2022, the camp was spending over $650K per year hauling wastewater.

  • Now: WaterFleet helped eliminate that expense entirely by reusing every gallon of treated wastewater onsite.

The Problem

Wastewater hauling at remote camps isn’t just expensive, it’s operationally disruptive and environmentally taxing. Those costs add up fast.

In fiscal year 2022 alone, they paid: $658,719 in hauling and disposal fees to remove 2.2 million gallons of effluent wastewater.

Beyond the financial hit, managing wastewater trucks also created scheduling headaches, increased traffic risk, and expanded the site’s environmental footprint.

The WaterFleet Solution

Rather than move the water, WaterFleet helped the camp reuse it.

wastewater reuse for man camps

Onsite wastewater treatment system

We proposed a permanent, onsite wastewater reuse strategy centered around a regulatory tool few operations take full advantage of.

What we did:

  • Secured a state regulatory permit on behalf of the man camp

  • Designed and installed an automated irrigation system

    • Treated effluent was repurposed for dust suppression and field irrigation

    • 100% of wastewater was reused on the same site where it was generated

This setup provided a seamless, permanent alternative to trucking without the permitting burdens typically placed on the customer.

Results That Still Matter

$660,000 saved annually
By eliminating hauling costs, savings were immediate and recurring.

2.2 million gallons no longer hauled
Water that once required constant transportation now stayed where it was needed.

Operations simplified
No more scheduling, delays, or third-party coordination. Everything runs automatically onsite.

Environmental impact reduced
Fewer trucks. Fewer emissions. Full compliance with Texas reuse standards.

“This was more than a cost-saving move. It changed the way wastewater is managed entirely.”

Why It Still Matters

This isn’t just a win for this specific site it’s a blueprint for any remote camp or industrial operation struggling with the high cost and low ROI of wastewater hauling. By aligning the right regulatory strategy with modern infrastructure, WaterFleet helps clients turn what used to be an operational burden into a cost-saving asset.
